Department SummaryThe Office of Disability Access (ODA) at the University of North Texas exists to prevent discrimination on the basis of disability and to help students reach a higher level of independence. It is the mission of the ODA to engage and collaborate with faculty and other campus partners to ensure students with disabilities at the University of North Texas have access to all university programs, services, and activities;
promote equity and inclusion for students with disabilities; and provide a platform for accessible pedagogical innovation.
The purpose of this position is to coordinate accommodated testing services for students with disabilities. This includes supporting the ODA Testing Center operations as well as providing support and training to faculty on accommodated testing in the classroom. This position is responsible for assisting with maintenance of the Testing Center daily schedule, calendar, and records relating to scheduling of tests between the individual students, test proctors, test locations, and delivery and security of the exams.
An important part of this position is maintaining academic integrity of the testing accommodation process while ensuring diplomatic relations with students, faculty, and staff in applying student test accommodations. The staff member assists with oversight of the adaptive test equipment and procedures and assists in providing alternative format materials in relation to testing needs. While this position does not provide direct supervision of any employees, they provide mentorship and direction to the ODA Testing Center Graduate Assistant and Office Assistants.
The role is fluid and can look very different each day.
Associate's degree and two years of office administration experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service. Demonstrated skill in verbal and written communications. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability handle multiple priorities. Strong attention to detail. Strong time management skills with the ability to arrive on time and prepared for work-related activities.
Preferred QualificationsAbility to multitask in a high traffic area with constant interruptions, and ability to think critically and logically to solve problems as they arise. Detail oriented, organized, reliable and flexible with broad technical skills using various software and hardware including assistive technology. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a diverse population. Skill and ability to operate standard office equipment such as PC, fax, copier, printers and multiline phone, and have excellent skills in written and verbal communication.
Bachelors degree or equivalent with two or more years of supervisory or leadership experience. Experience in working with individuals with disabilities.

Job Duties- Communicate effectively and diplomatically with faculty, staff, and students in addressing ODA testing guidelines, and accommodation procedures. Recommend procedural changes and policies to ODA administrators.
- Assist in managing the ODA Testing Center day to day operation by assisting with the hiring, training and monitoring student assistants, graduate assistants and proctors in meeting the needs of testing patrons and upholding UNT standards for test integrity.
