Adjunct Faculty - Art History and Visual Culture - School of the Arts & Design-Visual Arts

TWU Visual Arts is seeking adjunct faculty to teach courses in Art History and Visual Culture.

Applicants should have expertise in one or more of the following areas: decolonial global art history, women in art, contemporary art, art writing, and museum studies. We are interested in student-centered instructors with a social justice and/or feminist-influenced pedagogical approach. The adoption of open educational resources (OER) is welcomed.

The Visual Arts Division at TWU seeks applications on a rolling basis to create a pool of potential adjuncts. If you choose to submit materials, please do so with the understanding that we have no specific deadlines related to this pool, and will only reach out for more information in cases where a need arises. If you don t hear back, please do not consider that a rejection.

Applicants are welcome to submit updated materials; however, we prefer that you do so no more than twice a year (with exceptions if you need to correct an error).

• Teach courses in Art History and Visual Culture within the TWU Visual Arts division as needed.

• Expertise in decolonial global art history, women in art, contemporary art, art writing, and museum studies.
• Student-centered teaching with a social justice and/or feminist-influenced pedagogical approach.
• Open to adoption of open educational resources (OER).
• Willingness to participate in a rolling pool of adjunct applicants; may be contacted if a need arises.

• A cover letter that lists the topics and courses you are qualified and interested in teaching; state whether you have at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline.
• A current curriculum vitae including educational background and teaching experience.
• A list of three references with phone numbers and email addresses.
• An unofficial transcript from the highest degree that aligns with the discipline in which you would like to teach.
