The Development Coordinator for Sponsor ships & Strategic Initiatives provides essential frontline support to advance sponsorship fundraising for a university-wide signature speaker series and related strategic initiatives. This part‑time role (up to 19 hours per week) is intentionally designed to build early momentum, generate sponsorship revenue, and establish a strong prospect pipeline in advance of the hiring of a Senior Director of Development for Strategic Initiatives & Sponsor ships.
Reporting to AVP of Central Development, the Coordinator will focus on outbound phone outreach, sponsor prospecting, follow‑up, and coordination, helping to secure introductory‑ and mid‑level sponsor ships while laying the groundwork for long‑term sponsor relationships. This role is ideal for a relationship‑oriented professional who is comfortable making phone calls, representing the university, and advancing sponsorship conversations within a structured and supportive framework.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in customer service, sales, fundraising, or a related field involving direct outreach and relationship‑building.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively by phone and email in a professional setting.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) and ability to learn donor management systems.
