Department SummaryThe Division on Music Education strives to prepare students for a career in music education.
Position OverviewThis position is responsible for supporting the Early Childhood Music program requiring a general in-depth knowledge of function/specialization. This position is responsible for a variety of tasks which may include program planning and development, curriculum development, community outreach, assisting in developing and conducting training programs, developing learning assessments, reporting, program marketing and budget monitoring.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in music education with a specialization in Early Childhood Music and three years of related experience.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Child development
- Early childhood music
- Ability to prepare lessons
- Lead groups of children, and supervising students
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of populations
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to work independently and lead project team effectively.
Music Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Music
Required License/Registration/CertificationsDegree in Music Education
Job Duties- Prepare weekly lessons.
- Lead class.
- Advertise to program to the community.
- Supervise student workers.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- No adverse environmental conditions expected.
