Department Summary

The Counseling Program is housed in the Department of Counseling and Higher Education, and offers an undergraduate minor in counseling, and master's and doctoral degrees in counseling. The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) has conferred accreditation on the following tracks in the counseling program at UNT: clinical mental health counseling, school counseling, and the PhD in counseling.

The UNT Counseling Program is consistently ranked as one of the top counseling programs in the U.S. by U.S. News & World Report, Best‑Education‑, and  The UNT Counseling Program has been recognized with the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision's Outstanding Program Award.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. Position Overview

The Counseling Program at UNT seeks two Clinical Assistant Professors with a demonstrated record of strength in counseling, clinical supervision, leadership, and teaching to support the program’s professional and academic initiatives. These positions will contribute to the program, college, and university’s commitment to maintain excellence at the national level. The individual selected will serve a nine‑month, professional faculty appointment. Part‑time summer teaching is contingent upon student demand and funding.
