As a Manufacturing Engineer III, you'll contribute to meaningful projects that shape the future of aerospace.
- A Subject Matter Expert in using Lean or Six Sigma principles to optimize existing processes to ensure production of cost effective and quality products.
- Coaches other team members and leads them in the right direction for problem resolution.
- May serve as primary interface with external customers;
- Analyzes changes in customer specs in order to flow them down to manufacturing;
- Interfaces with product engineering, manufacturing leadership, and support teams to meet business unit goals;
- Supports standardization initiatives across business units;
- Coordinates with engineering team to implement company engineering strategies;
- Defines material sorting and grouping to match the process sequence and aid manufacturing;
- Documents sorting to match the process sequence;
- Resolving problems related to the manufacturing process;
- Identifying customer contract quality requirements and ensuring implementation on all programs through quality plans and inspection and inspection and test plans;
- Improving process layout to optimize product flow;
- Configuring work station design, layout and tooling to optimize operator performance;
- Using video analysis to improve work methods and procedures;
- Supports material review boards, corrective action boards and cost of quality as required;
- Develops fixtures, aids in order to implement Poke-Yoke concepts or mistake proofed processes;
- Supports new program introductions by providing standard cost hours data or any other cost analysis required;
- Works with engineering and customers to propose engineering product design concepts and product design solutions that better support production requirements;
- Designs optimum systems, procedures and work related plans to improve productivity;
- Supports Safran production system through manufacturing cells implementation;
- Defines optimum manufacturing process sequence according to product type;
- Conducts time studies and analyzes data to establish direct labor standards;
- Compiles and provides management status reports for assigned projects;
- Capitalizes projects using the “I see I do” process including project savings analysis;
- Leads and conducts projects including Value Stream Mapping, SIPOC, Six Sigma and Kaizen Events (AIW);
- Identifies non value added activities and provides solutions to break production constraints/bottlenecks;
- Conducts special studies relating to implementation of latest manufacturing techniques;
- Coordinates and prepares justification and or return on investment (ROI) for major capital expenditures and equipment implementation;
- Trains others

- Requires Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5‑8 years experience in manufacturing and/or quality processes.
- Blueprint and schematics reading - Expert
- Problem Solving, root cause analysis and corrective action - Expert
- Ability to design layouts and fixtures to aid manufacturing (AutoCAD) - Advanced
- Knowledge of principles of Kaizen events coordination - Basic
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Management - Advanced
- Ability to define an action plan using PFEMA per AS9145 - Expert
- Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies and tools - Expert
- Ability to understand flow diagrams, PFEMA, and control plans – Expert
