Tax Senior Manager
Working under the direction of the VP of Tax, the Tax Senior Manager will lead the company's US federal tax strategy, compliance, and reporting functions. This individual will oversee the preparation and review of all tax filings, manage audits, and provide strategic tax planning to support business growth and ensure compliance with federal tax regulations. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership ability, and business acumen to guide the tax team and advise senior executives on complex tax matters.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the preparation and review of the ASC 740 US tax provision and compliance process
- Assist with the preparation and review of tax supporting documentation
- Support financial modeling in strategic and operational tax planning
- Research, analyze and draft technical memorandum on a variety of tax issues
- Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures
- Support the tax department in managing tax audits, payments and any ad hoc projects
- Manage third party advisors in the tax provision process and the tax return process
- Provide continuous updates to internal leadership; assist in drafting concise / insightful materials / decks for meetings with other stakeholders
- Assist in managing colleague(s) engaged to supporting various aspects of the company's tax process
- Perform first or second level reviews of workpaper documentation
- Regularly engage with external stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, MS in Tax or C.P.A. preferred but not required. Possess an understanding of ASC
740 principles, as well as federal and state tax concepts. Minimum of 7 years of progressive tax experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role. Preparation and review of the ASC 740 US tax provision and compliance Processes. Prior, or current Big 4 or large public accounting firm experience.
Ability to be flexible with various shifts and possible overtime when business needs require. Travel to Deerfield, IL 4 times per year to work on quarter close. Alight requires all virtual interviews to be conducted on video. Flexible working arrangements are considered wherever possible.
