• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program (preferred). Associate’s Degree preferred.
• 1 year clinical experience in mammography (preferred); meet the mammography requirements as stated in Federal Register for MQSA in Final Rules, Part 900.12(a)(2).

• ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Mammography upon hire required.
• CMRT – Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (TDH or TMB) upon hire required.
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly.

• Perform mammograms and diagnostic radiographs.
• Produce quality images in mammography per American College of Radiology guidelines.
• Possess standard and advanced positioning skills.

• Mammography:
  Phantom images, visual inspections, compression checks, screen contract, peer reviews, monthly checklist for all mammography units.
• Notify the physicist of any repairs to mammography units as needed.
• Maintain logs, preventative maintenance and physicist surveys for all X‑ray equipment.

• Accurately enter patient data in RIS for tracking and billing.
• Present patient case history and images to radiologists for review by pulling images from PACS and hanging analog films on multiviewers as needed.
• Meet or exceed continuing education requirements for mammography and diagnostic radiology per Texas Department of Health, American College of Health, American College of Radiology and FDA/MQSA guidelines.

• Verify patient with two identifiers.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and inspect, report any malfunctions.
• Respond to emergency situations appropriately.
