Associate Director, Training - Denton JOB SUMMARY
This senior level position assists the Director with and is primarily responsible for the development, recruitment, management, and oversight of the CAPS practicum training program and ensures smooth operation of all training program functions. This position also provides comprehensive psychological services to a diverse student population. Duties regularly include the following: triage intake assessments; individual, couples, and group therapy; crisis intervention;
clinical supervision of trainees and staff as assigned; and outreach to the campus community. On a less regular basis, the position includes consultation with faculty, staff and students. CAPS staff also routinely serve on campus wide committees as approved by the Director. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with University Policies & Procedures.

Supervises:
Full‑time and part‑time Psychologists and Licensed Mental Health Clinicians, counseling/psychology trainees and contract therapists as assigned
May include, but not limited to the following:
- Serves as a member of the CAPS leadership team. In the absence of the Director, the Associate Directors supervise all CAPS operations.
- Assumes primary leadership for developing, coordinating, and maintaining all aspects of the training of graduate level practicum students including but not limited to:
- Communicating with respective academic departments and practicum coordinators.
- Collecting, organizing, and maintaining all practicum agreements, evaluations, documentation of hours, and other relevant paperwork.
- Overseeing clinical supervision processes including providing direct supervision to trainees and making supervision assignments.
- Developing and managing training schedules for trainees.
- Developing and implementing training curriculum.
- Developing and managing processes for trainee recruitment, interviews, selection, onboarding/orientation, and evaluation.
- Leading weekly group supervision and didactic trainings with trainees.
- Leading weekly Training Committee meetings with supervisors on staff and serves as consultant to other staff on trainee related issues.
- Other practicum duties as assigned.
- Provides clinical supervision of clinical staff, contract therapists, and trainees as assigned.
- Provides direct psychological service including individual, couples, and group therapy as well as formulating diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Performs intake assessments.
- Responsible for crisis intervention and provides after hours crisis consultation as needed.
- Performs preventative mental health outreach programming.
- Performs consultation with faculty, staff, and students regarding mental health related issues.
- Maintains up‑to‑date recordkeeping on clients using Titanium, CCAPS‑62, and other web‑based technologies.
- Follows policies and procedures to collect data and ensures data integrity to maintain accurate statistics on CAPS service utilization.
- Participates in weekly meetings related to psychology trainees as well as other staff meetings.
- Continues to maintain professional competencies through participation in professional organizations and through attendance at relevant conferences and workshops.
- Maintains licensure or works towards licensure in a timely manner.
- Adheres to workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Assists Director with recruiting and hiring new staff as needed on all three campuses.
