As our IT Support Technician, you’ll be part of a small but dynamic IT team providing first‑line support to nurseries and central support colleagues via our helpdesk. You’ll also help maintain and improve our IT infrastructure, support project delivery, and ensure our systems run smoothly and efficiently as we scale. This is a varied role where no two days are the same – from troubleshooting Wi‑Fi issues to installing new equipment, liaising with suppliers, and supporting the rollout of new technologies.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Providing first-line IT support via phone, remote access, and occasional site visits
- Maintaining reliable Wi‑Fi and communications across all nurseries
- Setting up and maintaining hardware, software, user accounts, and antivirus
- Supporting management information and finance systems
- Assisting in IT projects alongside the ICT Director and senior technician
- Managing relationships with external suppliers for repairs and maintenance
- Keeping accurate asset registers and software licence records
- Providing basic user training and creating simple guidance notes
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, GDPR, and data security policies
- Helpdesk tickets resolved within agreed SLAs
- Positive feedback from colleagues on IT support
- A well‑maintained and reliable IT infrastructure
- Smooth delivery of IT projects on time and within budget
- Strong supplier relationships that add value to the IT estate
We’re looking for someone who’s both technical and personable, with a genuine passion for IT and problem‑solving. You’ll be a proactive team player, able to adapt quickly and deliver great service.
You’ll Ideally Have- A degree (or equivalent) in a computing‑related subject
- Previous experience in an IT support environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Office, Exchange, and networking protocols
- Understanding of VPN, Terminal Services, SQL Server, and legacy systems
- Experience with multi‑site telecoms and managing third‑party suppliers
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and project delivery skills
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally
