Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and results-driven Project Manager to take full ownership of civil underground utility projects. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure projects are completed efficiently, profitably, and in strict compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of successfully managing complex, multi-phase excavation, utility replacement, and municipal projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule and within financial targets.
Key Responsibilities:
• Take full responsibility for the planning, execution, and completion of underground utility projects from initiation to final turnover.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and work plans to meet or exceed contract requirements.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies, promoting a culture of accountability and proactive risk mitigation.
• Lead and coordinate efforts among field crews, subcontractors, clients, and city officials to ensure seamless and efficient project execution.
• Monitor project progress closely, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to address any challenges or delays before they impact the timeline or budget.
• Review and approve all purchase orders, invoices, and change orders related to the project with a focus on cost control and contract compliance.
• Conduct routine site visits to assess work quality, verify adherence to safety protocols, and swiftly resolve any field issues.
• Maintain comprehensive and organized documentation of project activities, costs, and milestones.
• Ensure all delegated work is completed to the highest standard by implementing regular performance evaluations and corrective measures as necessary.
• Communicate critical project updates, potential risks, and strategic solutions clearly and proactively to stakeholders.
• Actively mentor, develop, and support field supervisors and team members to enhance overall team performance and leadership growth.
• Additional responsibilities as delegated.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of verifiable project management experience within the civil construction or underground utilities industry.
• Strong knowledge of excavation, utility installation, and municipal infrastructure project management.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed construction plans, contracts, and specifications with precision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, estimating tools (e.g., Blue Beam, etc.), and other construction management tools.
• Superior problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to unforeseen challenges with a strategic mindset.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to effectively direct multiple teams and stakeholders.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry-leading safety best practices.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Bilingual in Spanish is highly desirable and will be considered a strong asset.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering

Experience:
At least 2 years of experience working as an Active Project Manager (APM) or in a comparable leadership role.
• Strong knowledge in underground utilities and concrete construction methods, materials, and project lifecycle management.
