Responsibilities- Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices, guiding customer-centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business.
- Serve as the front-line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives for three offices. Prior tax preparation experience is not required.
- Start with a flexible part-time schedule in the fall and transition to full-time from January to April, including evening and weekend hours as needed.
- Lead and develop associates, manage office staffing, operations, and logistics with support from Associate Team Leaders.
- Partner with the District General Manager (DGM) to create and implement office-level growth plans and client growth targets, including local partnerships and community involvement.
- Assist the DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and collaborate with the Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns.
- Build an engaging team environment across all offices through training and coaching, recognizing outstanding contributions.
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
- Create associate work schedules across all offices and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management.
- Travel between offices as required.
- Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
- People management experience with the ability to grow and develop associates.
- Ability to execute growth plans and lead towards a growth culture.
- Strong decision-making and judgment in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience.
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
