Requisition SummaryThis position will assist the Safety Manager in development and implementation of safety and health programs to include accident prevention, safety training, hazardous materials management, ergonomics, DOT compliance and plant emergency team.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with leadership to develop a culture promoting behavioral based safety in operations and office environments.
- Manage a comprehensive environmental, health and safety program including prevention, investigation and recording of incidents and related costs.
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws, records retention and reporting.
- Develop effective loss control goals and procedures for environmental, health and safety.
- Partner with operations to identify and mitigate risks.
- Manage safety training program for operations and office staff.
- Coordinate with OSHA inspectors, fire department inspections, insurance carriers and local facilities departments.
- Bachelor's degree in safety or related field required.
- Master’s degree in applicable field preferred.
- Professional certification in safety, industrial hygiene or hazardous materials preferred.
- Five years of closely related industrial safety experience.
- 14001/18001 experience and/or lead auditor training required.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and NFPA laws and local regulatory agencies.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to influence a safety behavioral based culture.
