. This PRN seasonal position is part of HCA Healthcare’s leading pediatric emergency department.
The Seasonal Pediatric Emergency Dept Registered Nurse will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care within a fast‑paced pediatric setting. The RN will coordinate inpatient and outpatient pediatric emergency care, advocate for patients and families, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team.
Seasonal Program Requirements- Minimum of 72 hours of work per pay period during the seasonal period.
- Seasonal RN may be asked to float to another facility with an emergent staffing need.
- Four weekend shifts are required each four‑week schedule period.
- Two holiday shifts are required during the 32‑week period.
- Seasonal RN will work a PRN schedule with no guaranteed hours; first‑call off applies.
- Seasonal RN will not be eligible for benefits except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.
- Seasonal RN will not receive extra shift bonuses.
- Seasonal RN will be eligible to pass one clinical competency evaluation.
- Current HWS employees are ineligible for the Seasonal Program.
- Seasonal RN shift schedule may vary based on department needs.

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. The RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.”
- Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and document care promptly.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate patient needs proactively.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and follow‑up measures.
- Prepare patients and families for future self‑management, including healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric (ENP) must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree required with 12‑month enrollment and 24‑month completion.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
