Position Summary
Responsible for managing the overall operations of a Jack in the Box unit. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (
SPC
) and Brand Promise. Develops a team to provide excellent internal and external service, build restaurant sales and profit, while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Key Duties / Responsibilities- Internal Service:
Recruits, selects, trains, develops, and evaluates restaurant employees. Monitors staffing levels, ensures training systems are implemented and adhered to, and identifies internal candidates for management positions. Works with the management team to execute “My Promise to You” and the Service Profit Chain, creates a friendly and safe environment, motivates employees to achieve high performance, and regularly recognizes and rewards them.
Uses JIB systems and tools while complying with labor laws. - External Service:
Manages daily activities to achieve operational excellence. Provides an exceptional experience for guests through training and accountability for food quality and service. Reviews practices and modifies them to improve guest experience, maintains brand image, and resolves guest concerns promptly. - Sales & Profits:
Uses management information tools to analyze performance each period, identifies trends, implements action plans, and consults with regional resources. Focuses on increasing sales and profitability by executing the Service Profit Chain and protecting the JIB brand. Monitors costs and adherence to budget.

Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required;
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: Internal Promote:
Minimum 1+ year as Associate Manager or 2 years as First Assistant Manager, 100% certified in all workstations.
External Recruit:
Minimum 3 years managing a service concept with full P&L responsibility.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: At least 18 years old, completed Restaurant Manager training classes, Serv Safe certified, speaks & writes English, basic math skills, analytical and organizational skills, self‑starter, PC proficiency, valid driver’s license, personal vehicle for bank deposits and business travel, ethical behavior.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk 85%–95% of shift, lift 10–65 lbs, move freely throughout restaurant, operate equipment and motor vehicle, use computer keyboard.
