Facilities Maintenance Technician role at Greenpoint Technologies, Inc.

Overview

Performs ongoing facility maintenance and completes repairs on equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Performs and maintains facilities maintenance needs.
  • Ensures the facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly manner prior to, and following work shift.
  • Surveys condition of premises and equipment and reports needed repairs, safety hazards or conditions requiring outside vendor services.
  • Completes maintenance forms, work order signoffs and other paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Identifies/tags equipment and components as well as other company items for safe and secure storage.
  • Ensures that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Collects and disposes of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic and other hazmat items, as required.
  • Keeps all work areas clean and organized, cleaning as you go.
  • Uses and maintains company-provided tools and equipment. Returns items to designated storage area after use.
  • Follows building and property security procedures.
  • Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience & Certification

Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three years’ experience preferred. US Person Required - this position requires special access. A US Person is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to communicate in English (read, write and speak).
  • Ability to understand maintenance documents, specifications, and other data acceptable to maintain the facility and tooling.
  • Displays good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Basic mathematical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of building HVAC and plumbing.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to select and work with proper tools for job tasks.
  • Possession of a valid state of Texas driver license.
  • Ability to work well independently and travel as required.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
  • Able to climb and work on step stools and ladders.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Able to reach overhead and work in various positions.
  • Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.
  • Normal or corrected vision suitable for exacting tasks.
  • Full range of motion with both hands and ability to work in stooping, kneeling or standing positions and in cramped areas.
