POSITION SUMMARY

This role is responsible for a complex variety of assigned accounting functions including but not limited to: payroll, accounts payable and receivable, revenue posting, billing preparation, job costing, and bookkeeping.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare all Financial Data for internal and external use.
  • Process accounts receivable and accounts payables.
  • Maintain treasury functions.
  • Process in-house payroll and all related taxes.
  • Reconcile the company’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers.
  • Complete analysis of employee expenditures.
  • Manage income and expenditure accounts.
  • Generate the company’s financial reports using income and expenditure data.
  • File and remit taxes and other financial obligations.
  • Manage financial and accounting software used by the company.
  • Assist with new hire paperwork and onboarding of new employees.
  • Assist office staff with general clerical duties.
  • Communicates with all employees – field and office staff - regarding questions about payroll issues, health insurance and 401k enrollments/changes, leave questions, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with accounting software and data entry
  • Ability to manage company finances
  • Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience with spreadsheets and other office software
  • Ability to work independently but also as part of a team – with other accountant and office staff and Vice President
  • Must be organized
  • Must be bilingual – Spanish and English
  • Must be willing and able to learn in a fast-paced environment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or any other related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience required
  • Prior accounting experience in a construction related environment preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

SUPPLIES & EQUIPMENT USED: Ability to operate all general office equipment including computer, printer, copier, fax, and phones.

WORKING CONDITIONS: This is an in-office position.
