Job Description Senior Associate (Audit & Tax) – Denver, CO
Position OverviewThe Senior Associate will supervise audit engagements, prepare and review tax filings, support consulting projects, and help guide junior staff while contributing to business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise audit engagements across various industries.
- Develop and execute audit programs by defining objectives, identifying risks, evaluating controls, and designing test procedures.
- Conduct technical accounting research across a variety of topics.
- Prepare and review Federal and state corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.
- Assist with ASC 740 income tax provisions.
- Perform tax consulting projects including permanent establishment and nexus analyses.
- Stay current with tax law changes and perform in-depth research.
- Act as a client contact, handling inquiries, notices, and requests.
- Manage multiple engagements with accuracy and high-quality standards.
- Maintain proactive communication to ensure client satisfaction.
- Delegate and oversee work effectively, removing obstacles and setting clear goals.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff.
- Collaborate with partners and senior managers on proposals and business development.
- 3+ years of professional experience, preferably in public accounting.
- BA/BS in Accounting or Master’s in Accounting/Taxation.
- Excellent English writing, research, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and process‑oriented mindset.
- Effective organizational and multitasking skills.
- Positive, collaborative team attitude.
- Experience in both audit and tax engagements.
- Experience in manufacturing and distribution.
- CPA license or similar certification (preferred).
- German language skills helpful but not required.
- Pro System fx Engagement and CCH Axcess experience.
