Position

Summary

The Senior Accountant is an integral part of the Accounting team and helps ensure that the month‑end close process is as efficient and effective as possible. This position is responsible for calculating, posting, verifying, and recording the financial transactions necessary to produce timely and accurate financial statements.

Responsibilities
  • Day‑to‑day general ledger accounting for multiple entities.
  • Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly management reports and financial statements.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly journal entries.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly general ledger account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Assist in developing accounting policies and administering approved accounting procedures.
  • Prepare ad‑hoc reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Experience with Great Plains accounting software preferred.
  • Proven record of timely and efficient completion of high‑level projects with minimal oversight.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Normal office environment. Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Requires mobility sufficient to travel.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience for Staff, 4‑5 years of experience for Senior.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting and/or combination of degree and experience required.
  • No budgetary responsibility or ability to spend without approval.
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Compensation
  • Base salary range $55K–$85K per annum dependent on experience.
