Bilingual Accountant RoleThe Accountant will support the day-to-day financial operations of a growing construction organization, with a strong emphasis on payroll accuracy, job costing, and financial reporting. This role works closely with senior accounting leadership and serves as a key internal resource for payroll and accounting-related questions from both field and office staff.
Responsibilities- Process and manage in-house payroll, including payroll taxes and compliance.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll for all employees (priority responsibility).
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations.
- Manage job costing and ensure payroll and expenses are properly allocated.
- Track and analyze employee expenses.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for internal and external use.
- Generate financial reports using income and expenditure data.
- File and remit payroll taxes and other required financial obligations.
- Maintain and work within accounting and financial systems.
- Support new hire paperwork and onboarding documentation.
- Assist with general administrative and clerical duties as needed.
- Communicate with employees regarding payroll, benefits (health insurance, 401k), leave, and related questions.
- Translate financial or government-related communications into Spanish as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. - 2–3 years of hands‑on accounting experience.
- Experience processing payroll internally.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills.
- Experience with accounting software (Quick Books, Sage, or similar).
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and verbal).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with leadership.
- Preferred Construction or job‑cost accounting experience.
- Preferred experience supporting payroll with multiple pay types.
