Inventory Accounting Manager

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Inventory Accounting Manager to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $125,000 to $150,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise a small team responsible for inventory accounting activities, including close processes and reconciliations.
• Review bills of materials and work orders to ensure accurate inventory costing and identify variances.
• Lead periodic inventory counts and post adjustments in the ERP system.
• Manage transactions related to raw materials, prepaid inventory, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Provide inventory reporting and metrics to support strategic business decisions.

Requirements:

• Maintain and adjust standard cost structures while tracking and analyzing variances.
• Identify and report on excess, obsolete, or slow-moving inventory in compliance with accounting policies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve inventory issues and improve related processes.
• Oversee ERP data cleanup and improvements to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Support audit activities by preparing documentation and ensuring policy compliance.

Qualifications:

• Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• Bring at least five years of experience in inventory or cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or multi-site environment.
• Demonstrate experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Show familiarity with U.S. GAAP and inventory accounting standards.
• Possess strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
