Summary

At Elevate Dental Partners, we’re building a modern, scalable accounting function that can grow with the company. We’re searching for an experienced Senior Accountant who is detail-oriented and highly organized with a builder mindset. Qualified candidates should have strong analytical skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively and have a deep understanding of accounting. This role will report to our Controller and is expected to work a hybrid schedule. This individual will own critical areas of close, coach staff, and help us continually improve our processes and systems to be best-in-class.

Responsibilities
  • Perform month-end close in lockstep with the rest of the team: own revenue recognition and AR from our external practice management systems (e.g., Open Dental), subledger close out, lease management and accounting (ASC 842), intercompany accounting, multi-entity expense accounting and allocation, balance sheet reconciliations, flux analyses, routine journal entries, and manage monthly workpaper files to audit-ready standards.
  • Execute operational support functions: AP workflow approvals, process weekly check runs, credit card / expense transaction approvals, banking and treasury management, close out of integrated systems.
  • Perform financial analytics and technical accounting analyses that add value to Elevate by enabling better decision-making while ensuring adherence to US GAAP.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, banks and other partners.
  • Maintain files, documentation and processes accurately in accordance with company policies.
  • Review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies on an ongoing basis and suggest improvements to our policies and procedures where possible to drive continuous improvement.
  • Review the work of staff accountants and provide coaching and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Assist with onboarding of new practices, including opening balance sheet, systems onboarding, and vendor transition.
  • Assist with annual audit (performed by external CPA firm).
  • Assist with compliance and other related reporting requirements.
  • Manage annual 1099 preparation and review.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • 3+ years (required) relevant experience; dentistry/healthcare/multi-site experience is a plus.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • ERP experience;
    Net Suite (preferred).
  • Automated expense & invoice workflow software;
    Ramp (preferred but not required).
  • Payroll provider; ADP (preferred).
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications and have strong MS Excel knowledge / working skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate accounting into clear, actionable insights for non-finance partners.
