Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

Description

Robert Half is working with a stable public-sector organization to identify an experienced Controller. This role oversees accounting and financial reporting functions and manages a small, tenured accounting team. The organization offers strong work-life balance and long-term stability.

Responsibilities

+ Lead all accounting operations, including GL, financial reporting, payroll accounting, AP/AR, cash management, and fixed assets

+ Manage and develop a small accounting team

+ Oversee grant accounting, compliance, and reporting

+ Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with GASB

+ Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning

+ Coordinate annual audits and maintain internal controls

+ Ensure compliance with governmental regulations

Requirements

+ CPA required

+ 10+ years of accounting experience, including public-sector or government accounting

+ 4+ years of team leadership experience

+ Strong knowledge of GASB and fund accounting

+ Grant accounting experience required
