Tax Accountant

Job Description:

Tax Accountant Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join its finance and accounting team in the Denver area. This role will support corporate tax compliance, tax provision activities, and various tax reporting requirements while partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely filings. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and interested in building a long-term career within corporate tax.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and support federal, state, and local tax filings. Assist with quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and reporting. Prepare tax-related reconciliations, work papers, and supporting schedules. Support estimated tax payments and compliance activities. Research tax issues and assist with resolving notices and inquiries. Collaborate with accounting, finance, and operational teams on tax-related matters. Assist with audits and other regulatory reporting requirements.

Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures. Support process improvement initiatives within the tax function.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 2+ years of experience in tax, accounting, or a related area.

Experience with corporate tax compliance and reporting preferred. Understanding of accounting principles and financial statements. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA certification or progress toward certification preferred. Experience in public accounting, corporate tax, or a combination of both. Exposure to multi-state tax environments and tax provision processes.

Experience with tax software, ERP systems, or financial reporting tools. Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, or tax research initiatives. Workstyle Onsite in Denver, CO.
