Senior Property Accountant

$85,000 - $95,000 annually
Hybrid Schedule (2-3 Days Onsite Per Week)

Hire Connections is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing property management organization, seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to oversee a portfolio of residential properties. This role is responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, budgeting support, audit preparation, variance analysis, and process improvement initiatives while partnering closely with property management and leadership teams.

Responsibilities:

• Perform full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of residential properties
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaid schedules, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
• Analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide financial recommendations
• Ensure accuracy of general ledger activity and compliance with GAAP
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audit activities
• Monitor cash balances and assist with cash management functions
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and capital expenditure tracking
• Collaborate with property management and leadership teams regarding financial performance
• Assist with process improvements, internal controls, and accounting best practices
• Mentor and support junior accounting staff as needed

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of property management, real estate, or multifamily accounting experience
• Experience with Yardi Voyager required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting
• Experience preparing financial statements and managing month-end close processes
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and audit support
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience mentoring or training accounting staff
• Experience developing accounting procedures, workflows, and internal controls
• Multifamily residential property accounting experience
