Testing Center Assistant, Student Disability Services
Location: Denver, CO
Position Type: Staff, Part-Time (No benefits, max 1,000 hours/year)
Student Disability Services (SDS) is dedicated to providing students with disabilities equal opportunity to participate in the University’s programs. The Testing Center Assistant supports the Testing Center Coordinator in implementing testing accommodations for students at the University of Denver.
Essential Functions- Printing and preparing exam materials.
- Creating exam tracking information with accurate instructions and other details.
- Running daily reports used to track students and testing materials.
- Communicating with students, faculty and staff by phone and email regarding exams.
- Responding to and troubleshooting testing issues.
- Covering proctor breaks and hours as needed.
- Assisting in updating and creating informational materials for presentations and meetings.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and web applications.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to plan.
- Responsible with a strong sense of accountability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with little supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle confidential and time-sensitive information.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Standard office environment.
- Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate.
- Noise level is quiet to moderate.
- Ability to use a computer for an extended period.
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus and to transport objects up to 20 lbs.
15 hours a week, 3 days a week. High volume times during the academic year (Sep-Nov, Jan‑Jun). Possible hours will fall between 8 am‑8 pm M‑F, most likely between 8 am‑5 pm.
