Admin Clerk
This position requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered. The role is limited to US Citizens. The Clerk specializes in tracking initial specialty care referrals to network primary care and obtaining clear legible reporting (CLR) from military treatment facilities and other providers. CLRs must be chased NLT 60 days from the referral entry or when evidence of a claim is available and uploaded no later than 180 calendar days after the order entry date.
The Clerk imports, scans, and associates CLRs into patient medical records, follows up with providers who did not complete CLR referral results, and prepares referral management data reports and metrics using referral tracking tools. The Clerk demonstrates medical ethics, telephone etiquette, office, administrative, and clerical skills to provide positive, courteous, and professional customer service support to patients and staff.
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $38,604.80. Pay commensurate with experience. Full‑time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Responsibilities- Read, understand, speak, and write English fluently.
- Perform general office administrative and clerical duties, including receptionist responsibilities and answering telephones.
- Operate computer skills with general working knowledge of word processing, Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Possess understanding of medical terminology.
- Prepare referral management data reports and metrics using referral tracking data tools.
- Learn computer applications such as MHS Genesis (preferred).
- Have one (1) year of healthcare administrative experience in either an inpatient or outpatient care setting within the last three (3) years.
- Demonstrate general medical ethics, telephone etiquette, written, verbal, electronic communication, and customer service skills.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
- College classes or degree preferred.
- Must pass pre‑employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
