Are you an organized, thoughtful team player seeking meaningful work supporting Coloradans? The Department of Law, Civil Litigation and Employment Law (CLEL) Section is seeking a high functioning administrative professional to support the section leadership team, the Tort Litigation Unit, and the Cross-Unit Litigation Team. This Administrative Assistant III position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work on a variety of work and chance to dive into unique projects, interact with multiple teams, engage in creative problem solving, and develop new work process.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Managing the intake, categorization, and processing of Notices of Claim; preparing litigation hold notices; and drafting related correspondence for attorneys, client agencies, institutions of higher education, and SORM.
- Developing, implementing, and adjusting Notice of Claim procedures in partnership with the Unit’s First and Second Assistant Attorneys General.
- Providing clerical and litigation support such as creating, proofreading, and formatting legal filings and correspondence; scheduling meetings; organizing court documents; andassistingwith onboarding new attorneys and paralegals.
- Maintaining case files by opening new matters, organizing correspondence and documents, and ensuringaccuratearchiving and closure of cases.
The position also handles inquiries from the public and client agencies, coordinates special projects,maintains the Unit’sProLawcase management data, and provides backup support when other administrative assistants are out of the office.
This recruitment may be used to fill more than one Administrative Assistant IIIpositionsin the CLEL section.
Salary note:
Although a salary range is listed, salary will be setcommensuratewith the successful candidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to three (3) years. This must include at leasttwo (2) yearsofproviding administrative or clerical support in a professional office setting experience to qualify.
Note:
Candidatespossessinga foreign degree mustsubmita translation evaluation) of their degree from an accredited institution, such as The National Association of Credential Evaluations Service sin order tobe given credit for the degree.
- At least five years of experience providing administrative support to management
- General clerical experience in a law office or legal setting
- Strong communications skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with case management systems
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to multitask and switch focus when needed
- Ability to work comfortably adjust to an ebb and flow of work
- Ability to take initiative to resolve problems
- Experience with
SharePoint and webpage updating - Experience facilitating Zoom Meetings
- Experience in government sector
