What We OfferThe City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. The hiring salary range for this position is $60,064/year - $80,000/year, based on experience. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees, which include, but are not limited to:
- A guaranteed life‑long monthly pension, once vested after 5 years of service

- 140 hours of PTO earned within first year + 12 paid holidays, 1 personal holiday, 1 Wellness Day and 1 volunteer day per year

LocationThe Mayor’s Office does not operate remotely, and this position is an in‑person role. We believe collaboration, responsiveness, and trust are strengthened through in‑person work. In this position you can expect to work on‑site, primarily at the Denver City and County Building (1437 Bannock Street) in downtown Denver.

What You’ll DoThe Business Operations Administrator (BOA) provides high‑level administrative, operational, and coordination support to several senior leaders within the Mayor’s Office. Sitting at the center of the organization, the BOA ensures the smooth, efficient, and strategic functioning of the Mayor’s leadership team by managing day‑to‑day priorities, facilitating information flow, and supporting aligned, timely execution across multiple portfolios.
Key Responsibilities of a Business Operations Administrator include, but are not limited to:Administrative & Executive Support
- Provide high‑level administrative support to senior leaders, including the Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Projects Officer, and Deputy Chief of Staff
- Manage complex calendars, coordinate meetings, and align scheduling with strategic priorities
- Draft, edit, and proofread correspondence, briefing materials, and talking points
- Coordinate travel, reimbursements, procurement, and expense processing
- Serve as a central point of contact for senior staff, triaging inquiries and ensuring timely follow‑up
- Prepare and coordinate briefing materials, meeting agendas, notes, and action summaries
- Support project tracking, workflow management, deadlines, and documentation across multiple portfolios
- Act as a professional point of contact for city agencies, elected officials, community partners, and the public
- Coordinate with departments to gather information, track requests, and support cross‑functional alignment
- Assist with logistics and coordination for meetings, events, and public‑facing activities
- Maintain and improve administrative systems, including digital filing, workflow tools, and project trackers
- Support office‑wide process improvements and system implementation
