Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships

Summary:

The Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships is responsible for managing the onboarding process and ongoing relationship for key client partnerships, including self‑directed referral providers and other strategic commercial banking opportunities. This individual builds relationships with partners who have a high impact on the organization’s deposit growth strategy, leads innovative partner technology projects and solutions, and advances the partnership ecosystem framework. The role requires a blend of relationship management, project management, and client centricity, and a deep commitment to delivering exceptional client partnership experience while incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Partnership Relationship Management
    • Lead the onboarding process for key banking partnerships and strategic relationships, including self‑directed referral provider relationships, ensuring a smooth and positive onboarding experience from initial contact through contract execution.
    • Partner closely with cross‑functional teams including Compliance, IT, Operations, and Finance to improve partner onboarding programs and processes that tailor to each partner’s unique needs while ensuring compliance with banking regulations.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for new and assigned partners during the onboarding phase, developing and maintaining strong relationships and ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance partner satisfaction and loyalty through personalized service and executing customized referral agreements or disclosures.
  • Project Management
    • Coordinate strategic partnership efforts by developing detailed project plans, tracking schedules, resource plans, and status reports for each initiative via Smartsheet.
    • Facilitate meetings both internally and externally, assigning clear action items and follow‑ups.
    • Map, design, and evaluate partnership integrations, technology enhancements, or process improvements along with the Partnerships Product Manager.
    • Design problem‑solving approaches for complex projects and facilitate the approach through provider feedback, workshops, analysis tools, training and coordination.
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • Prepare and present reports on onboarding progress, project health statuses, partner relationships, and outcomes to senior management.
    • Monitor and analyze key partner metrics related to the partner experience, including onboarding, ongoing relationship management, and project milestones.
    • Utilize data‑driven insights to make recommendations for process improvements and strategic initiatives.
    • Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), documentation within Confluence, and process maps for all activities within the Strategic Partnerships team.
  • Event Management
    • Support Strategic Partnerships leadership with coordinating partner events, including seminars, workshops, and appreciation events, to enhance partner relationships and promote the bank’s offerings.
    • Facilitate event planning and implement strategies to maximize event attendance and engagement.
    • Evaluate the success of events through client feedback and performance metrics and adjust future events accordingly.
Qualifications
  • 7‑10 years of experience in business development, or strategic project management within financial services, fintech, or investment platform companies.
  • 7‑10 years of Business Relationship Management (BRM).
  • Understanding of software and fintech landscape.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate and influence strategically and effectively.
  • Results‑driven mindset: track partnership initiatives and deliverables.
  • Self‑starter who aims for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to act as the champion for the partner internally and develop strong relationships with key internal colleagues to ensure a proactive approach to closing deals.
  • Analytical thinking – uses different techniques to identify possible solutions and plan next steps.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ideally located in Denver, CO or Salt Lake City, Utah.
