Compensation Range

$80,000 to $85,000/annually.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the legal side of our franchise sales pipeline; reviewing, drafting, and coordinating contracts for new development, renewals, and ownership transfers.
  • Partner closely with franchise sales, operations, and franchisees to vet deal structures, resolve issues, and ensure all transfers meet legal and brand standards.
  • Independently analyze key transactional documents (Purchase Agreements, ownership records, entity documents) and draft routine revisions or modifications, escalating to attorneys when needed.
  • Collaborate with outside counsel on more complex matters and ensure all agreements are accurate, compliant, and properly documented.
  • Own contract accuracy and compliance by ensuring obligations are met, fees are correctly calculated, and electronic records are maintained with precision.
  • Conduct legal research to answer questions, resolve discrepancies, and support ongoing projects.
  • Streamline and improve contract processes by refining templates, workflows, and best practices.
  • Provide updates to leadership and cross-functional teams on sales, transfers, and renewals.
  • Manage legal technology tools (Asana, Fran Connect, Docu Sign, etc.) and identify opportunities to improve workflows.
  • Train the legal team on systems and act as liaison with internal partners and external tech vendors.
  • Serve as a key connector between legal and business teams, participating in meetings and responding to inquiries.
  • Support additional legal or business needs as they arise.
Qualifications
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience drafting and negotiating contracts required
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience required
  • Experience in a franchise or other regulatory environment preferred
  • Experience in a multi-concept environment a plus
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • High level attention to detail in composing, preparing and proofing documents, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands (and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate), while at the same time maintaining high quality standards
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments
  • Ability to work collectively with various teams to complete tasks and projects
  • Ability to gather, summarize, and analyze data
