Position Overview: As the Chief of Staff to the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) at Equinix, you will play a crucial role in supporting the CPO in driving the strategic direction of the Procurement function. This key leadership position requires a highly organized, proactive, and resourceful individual who can collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization to optimize procurement processes, drive efficiency, and enhance business performance.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the CPO to identify areas of opportunity for process improvement, cost savings, and supplier optimization by coordinating with CPO direct staff and procurement personnel.
- Leverage data analysis and insights to identify strategic opportunities and present actionable recommendations to the CPO for decision‑making.
- Drive change management initiatives and embed new ways of working across teams.
- Navigate ambiguity and respond quickly to emerging priorities with agility and confidence.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CPO, facilitating communication and coordination with senior executives, department leaders, and cross‑functional teams.
- Influence and communicate effectively at the board and senior leadership level to drive strategic decisions.
- Foster strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure effective alignment with Procurement initiatives.
- Oversee and optimize the procurement process, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices to increase efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
- Monitor and analyze procurement performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and develop action plans accordingly.
- Familiarity with procurement platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa) and ERP systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Lead or participate in cross‑functional corporate projects and initiatives, coordinating efforts among different teams and ensuring project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with Finance and Procurement personnel to develop and manage budgets, ensuring appropriate resource allocation and cost control.
- Apply advanced executive presentation and visual storytelling skills to deliver impactful presentations, concisely with executive impact.
- Create slide decks and necessary reports for Finance and Procurement leadership quarterly calls, providing comprehensive insights into the Procurement function's performance and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards, working with the Legal and Compliance departments to mitigate potential risks as needed.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the Procurement team.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, encouraging their development and promoting a high‑performance work environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in procurement operations, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, ideally within a global organization.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence, motivate, and mentor a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and use insights to drive decision‑making.
- Project management experience, with a track record of successfully leading cross‑functional initiatives.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, legal requirements, and compliance standards.
- Proactive and innovative mindset, with the ability to adapt to a fast‑paced and dynamic business environment.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- 7+ years experience preferred.
Pay Range:
United States – Dallas Infomart Office (DAI): 155,000 – 233,000 USD / Annual
