Role OverviewAs a Child Care Specialist, you’ll have the remarkable chance to contribute directly to the growth of young children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This entry-level role works in collaboration with a team of experts, including Board-Certified Behavior Analysts, Speech Therapists, and Occupational Therapists. No prior certification required; we provide complete training.
Ideal CandidatesRecent college graduates (psychology, special education, child development, teaching degree holders, or similar) or anyone with childcare experience who loves kids (child care providers, paraprofessionals, nannies, babysitters, preschool teachers, day care workers, Montessori teachers or assistants, tutors, substitute teachers, childcare volunteers, Sunday School teachers, or similar) or frontline healthcare workers looking for a change (home health aides, behavioral health techs, psychiatric aides, child life specialists, or others) or encore career workers seeking a fresh start in a mission-driven organization.
ResponsibilitiesOffer one-on-one support to children aged 2-6 in a clinic environment, guided by science-backed, naturalistic therapeutic methods.
Implement intervention plans crafted by expert clinicians in behavior analysis, speech, and occupational therapy.
Team up with the child's healthcare professionals to provide consistent, high-quality care.
QualificationsPrevious experience with children aged 2-6, ideally in a professional capacity.
Ability to achieve and maintain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within first 6 weeks of employment (Soar will provide paid training).
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Computer and tablet literacy.
Must have reliable transportation to both training location and local center. Punctuality is essential.
Must be able to meet the following physical requirements: sit and stand frequently, shift positions quickly, lift up to 50 lbs., sit/kneel on the floor for extended periods of time, sit in a chair, stand, walk, and occasionally run short distances to catch up with a client.
Preference for college graduates or people pursuing a college degree.
What We Offer$21.00 - $28.00/hour with regular bonus and promotion opportunities. The initial offer hourly pay will be between $21.00 - $22.50. All staff members are considered every 3 months for a raise or promotion.
