CHIEF ESTIMATORThis position includes development, management and/or execution of all estimating activities for small to large and complex heavy civil construction projects in multiple markets including Mass Earthmoving, Residential & Commercial Development, DOT, Dams & Reservoirs, Drainage, Mining and Federal.
Relevant Industry Experience- Minimum of 10 years in heavy civil and earthwork construction.
- Minimum of 5 years of heavy civil estimating experience with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Expertise in Heavy Bid, B2W or similar estimating software with a strong understanding of its functionalities in heavy civil construction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam PDF.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera Scheduling software.
- Basic proficiency in digital takeoff including Agtek and Autodesk, which includes review and quality control of takeoffs performed by the estimating department.
- Understanding of relevant industry standards and ability to research and understand project specifications and standards.
- History of managing alternative bid deliveries includes CMAR, CMGC & Design Build.
- Management of communications to subcontractors and suppliers during the preconstruction process. Review and comparison of quotes for completeness and determination of scope gap.
- History of managing an estimating team.
- Scheduling of bid delivery milestones including ‘go / no-go review’, takeoff, bid submittal documentation, interim & final bid reviews and proposal submittal.
- At least 2 years of a supervisory role in estimating overseeing preconstruction, business development, estimating and client relations.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle fast‑paced, time‑sensitive and confidential tasks while maintaining professionalism.
- Ability to pass work history verification.
- Ability to pass and maintain pre‑employment and random drug screenings.
- Some travel will be required.
