Project Manager – Highway/Heavy Civil
Peterson Consulting Group is hiring an experienced Project Manager on behalf of two leading heavy civil contractors in the Denver and Front Range market. These well‑capitalized firms have annual revenues in the range of $50M–$100M and specialize in public infrastructure, roadway, grading, utilities, and site development projects. - Lead all phases of assigned heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and cost controls
- Administer contracts and subcontracts, including scope review, change orders, billing, and closeout
- Partner with Superintendents to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality field execution
- Serve as the primary point of contact with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Conduct project meetings and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure work meets plans, specifications, and contractual requirements
- Identify risks, resolve issues, and implement solutions to protect schedule, budget, and quality
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and job cost tracking
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years managing heavy civil construction projects, including utilities, grading, roadways, or public infrastructure
- Experience with DOT, municipal, or commercial heavy civil projects is a plus
- Strong knowledge of scheduling, cost control, and contract administration
- Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet pre‑employment requirements
- Salary Range: $130,000 – $180,000, depending on experience and project scope
