This is a key field‑leadership position responsible for driving production, maintaining safety, and ensuring high‑quality installation of underground utility systems. If you thrive in the dirt, lead from the front, and know how to keep complex utility projects moving, we want to talk to you.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Oversee day‑to‑day field operations on utility projects including water, sewer, storm, and trenchless activities.
- Lead and coordinate crews, operators, laborers, and subcontractors to maintain safe, efficient production.
- Ensure correct installation of pipes, structures, fittings, service connections, shoring systems, and bypass setups.

- Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to maintain schedules, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
- Conduct daily safety meetings, inspections, and JHAs, enforcing AWC’s exceptional safety culture.
- Problem‑solve in real time, addressing field conflicts, utility crossings, groundwater issues, and unexpected site conditions.
- Maintain accurate daily logs and reporting, including quantities, labor, equipment hours, and progress updates.
- 5+ years of proven experience supervising wet utility construction (water/sewer/storm).
- Strong understanding of utility standards, municipal specifications, and installation methods.
- Demonstrated experience with excavation safety, trench boxes, slide‑rail systems, and confined space protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans, profiles, shop drawings, and as‑builts.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to drive production while maintaining crew morale.
- Proficiency with construction technology, such as tablets, daily reporting apps, scheduling tools, and plan review software.
- A commitment to quality workmanship, problem‑solving, and maintaining AWC’s reputation for exceptionalism.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30, Competent Person, Confined Space, and First Aid/CPR are strong advantages.
- Competitive health, dental, and vision insurance
- Flexible Time Off (FTO)
- 401(k) retirement plan
- Longevity bonuses to reward long‑term commitment
