About Bonneville International

We are an integrated media company delivering content, advertising, and digital marketing solutions across 23 radio stations in Denver, Phoenix, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and Seattle, along with the NBC Affiliate TV station KSL-TV in Salt Lake.

Position Overview

To update, gather, edit and create sports content for  Ensure that all content on  is fresh and represents the high standards of 104.3 The Fan. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong editorial skills and sound news judgment with experience reporting or writing for a print publication or online news outlet. This position requires extreme flexibility, including work on weekends, evenings, and additional hours during breaking news and major sporting events.

It works closely with the digital media team, sports, and other departments to help make  a world‑class website.

Work Configuration
  • This is a hybrid role that requires the employee to sometimes work at our Denver site. Hybrid schedules will be determined based on business needs and evaluated by managers and senior management.
Responsibilities
  • Produce written news content and features on Denver sports stories for the station’s website.
  • Receive writing assignments from the digital sports editor and complete projects on deadline.
  • Post stories to the website using the station’s online portal and subscription image service.
  • Offer ideas, suggestions, and concepts for the station’s digital platforms that are innovative and creative.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication/journalism with skills in broadcast journalism, writing, computer and operational skills, related field, or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a newsroom environment and/or writing for print or online news or sports sites or blogs. Preference for experience as a print reporter, copy editor, and/or web editor.
  • Exceptional sports writing skills, including editing and grammar. Ability to produce accurate, well‑presented content quickly and timely.
  • Typing skills and computer input ability. Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new programs, HTML, and other technologies.
  • Ability to produce, gather, edit, and update sports news content for  daily, including text, images, web pages, audio/video, etc., and collaborate with others in the digital department.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision, demonstrating dependability and self‑starter qualities.
  • Willingness to offer ideas, suggestions, and other concepts for the station’s internet activities that are innovative and creative, and support the web team in a variety of internet activities.
Physical Demands
  • Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment, and ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods.
Compensation

$15.00–$21.50 per hour. The hourly rate will be determined by multiple factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and market data.
