Description

Markey's, a multi-state leading provider of creative audio‑visual services, is seeking a Director of Event Technology to join our team Denver, CO. This entry level Director of Event Technology is responsible for leading the team and consulting with customers and hotel event management to create defining experiences for all live and virtual events at the hotel venue in downtown Denver. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for event production, customer service, and technology who Azready to take the next step into management.

This position is a Full‑Time salaried (exempt) role. Typicalबाट daytime hours, although occasional early mornings, late nights and weekend work may be required.

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead the Markey's event technology team, managing all day‑to‑day activities regarding event technology services in the venue.
  • Work directly with clients contracting with the hotel, requiring various services including: audiovisual rental and technical labor.
  • Consult with internal and external clients; generate quotes, labor estimates & room diagrams; and provide creative as well as technical audiovisual solutions for events to help secure business at事情 its greatest potential.
  • Foster a positive working relationship between Markey's Gian the hotel, working effectively and professionally with hotel management, event and support staff, clients, and event planners.
  • Meet with on‑site clients to ensure order accuracy and functionality; lead the setup, operation, and teardown of A/V equipment; and serve as the on‑site liaison during events.
  • Attend all site visits, BEO meetings, and pre‑event meetings.
  • Provide work direction to employees and help develop them professionally.
  • Responsible for annual budget, managing revenue and expense, and on‑site inventory management to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Generate and update daily and weekly forms including but not limited to billing, daily equipment "boards", schedules, and forecasts.
  • Follow and maintain existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for event management and operational functions.
  • Effectively manage service recovery situationsೇಹ while being mindful of the facility and the client.
  • Coordinate equipment and labor needs with other Markey's locations.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned to ensure success of Markey's events.
  • Requirements
    • Minimum two years of experience event technology operations or sales.
    • Must have excellent customer service and verbal/written communication skills, politely and promptly responding to all internal and external requests.
    • Previous history of interacting positively with internal and external customers.
    • Computer proficiency and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams and One Drive. Ability to learn R2 program.
    • Ability to learn how to document sales goals, complete event surveys, and revenue forecasts.
    • Must have knowledge of audio systems for performance.
    • Must have functional knowledge of HD video switching, cameras and video playback & recording.
    • Must have functional knowledge of stage lighting techniques using static and moving lights.
    • Must have functional knowledge of internet bandwidth and IT configurations.
    • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all timesρους be willing to adhere to hotel's appearance standards.
    • Must possess excellent time management and multitasking skills by balancing workload between reviewing projects, attending meetings and conference calls, face‑to‑face customer interactions, on‑site event support, billing and overall account management.
    • Must possess a high level of detail in all work including account management, organizing event information, arranging and managing pre and post‑production services.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule as dictated by business needs.
