Miller International, Inc., designer of Cinch® and Cruel®, is searching for its newest team member at our headquarters in Denver, Colorado. The Senior Apparel Technical Designer will possess excellent team skills, a strong understanding of garment fit and construction, and a passion for learning and growing.

Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere and communicate in a manner that fosters collaboration among customers, clients, co‑workers, and management.
- Create technical packets in PLM, ensuring commercial viability with factories and cost effectiveness.
- Review technical packets and samples from contractors for design accuracy and integrity.
- Execute design and fit intent into bulk production while maintaining corporate standards.
- Collaborate with team members and cross‑functional partners to achieve clear direction and consensus on design and fit intent.
- Identify potential production, quality, and costing issues and recommend solutions to ensure brand integrity.
- Work closely with the Quality department throughout the development process.
- Negotiate costs with vendors.
- Ensure size and fit consistency within the brand and across product categories.
- Lead fit sessions and serve as the fit expert for all products.
- Build and maintain fit base libraries, including sketches and finished garment measurements.
- Review and maintain the How‑To‑Measure Manual.
- Track and manage workflow and workload for own products.
- Proactively engage business partners, providing recommendations for viable options and solutions.
- Foster open communication and teamwork with all business partners.
- Participate in departmental and cross‑functional meetings.
- Suggest ideas for improving procedures and ensure established processes are followed.
- Assist team members with pattern and grading questions.
- Review work of less tenured colleagues and guide them to learn and grow.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university.
- 7 to 9+ years of related experience and/or training.
- Self‑motivated and sense of urgency with strong time awareness.
- Thorough attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Creative problem‑solving ability.
- Mathematical skills: fractions, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume; ability to apply basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to multi‑task, scheduling, and manage deadlines.
- Work well under pressure and analyze quality to maintain standards with contractors.
- Produce computer‑generated technical sketches.
- Team‑oriented, entrepreneurial, proactive attitude.
- Expert knowledge of fabrics, construction, finishes, trims, fitting, and techniques.
- Expert knowledge in pattern making, grading, construction, fit, and ability to adjust patterns.
- Make independent decisions based on higher level knowledge and expertise.
- Mentor less tenured teammates and share knowledge.
- Think big picture; understand how Product Development decisions impact other areas (e.g., Sales).
- Proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop.
