North Face: Associate Designer, Color

The Associate Colour Designer supports the design team throughout the seasonal colour design process, from trend and market research through concept development and colour application. Working with designers and the Design Manager, the role holder builds foundational design skills and develops an understanding of The North Face brand aesthetic. The position collaborates across teams to bring seasonal colour stories to life across apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories.

• Support seasonal trend and market research, concept ideation and colour design application.
• Create colour palettes, mood boards, colour decks and other design tools with direction from designers and the Design Manager.
• Apply colour concepts to product CADs and croquis across apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories.
• Build understanding of the design process, systems, brand DNA and key seasonal milestones.
• Contribute to team reviews, workshops and events with curiosity, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners and adapt as priorities and needs evolve.

• 0-2 years of experience in colour, trend or product design within apparel, footwear, equipment or accessories.
• Experience researching colour and consumer trends across performance and/or lifestyle products.
• A foundational understanding of colour theory, concept ideation and visual storytelling.
• Experience applying colour palettes to CADs and/or croquis.
• An understanding of the design process and the ability to work towards key milestones and deadlines.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Flexibility, a growth mindset and a passion for snow, climb, trail and lifestyle product.

• Formal education in a related field.
