Affiliate Alternative Licensure Program Coach
The Alternative Licensure Program at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. The ALP Coach will support alternative licensure candidates in their teaching assignments. This is a temporary coaching position that serves students in the fall and spring semesters. Applicants need to be available 5 days per week during the day for lesson observations, debriefs, and meetings with alternative licensure teachers.
The successful applicant will coach candidates in accordance with Teacher Quality Standards and assist each candidate in becoming an effective teacher in a variety of settings. For more information about the program, please visit the ALP page.
- Assist alternative licensure candidates in meeting the requirements of the Colorado Teacher Quality Standards
- Conduct a minimum of 5 school visits for each assigned alternative licensure candidate during each semester
- Provide feedback on each lesson observed
- Complete and submit observation reports for each observation
- Evaluate candidate’s proficiency on Colorado Teacher Qualities Standards
- Communicate with the Alternative Licensure Instructor regarding candidate’s performance
- Attend all required ALP meetings
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education or related field from an accredited college or university
- Teaching experience in a public or private school setting
- Has held a license to teach
- Master’s degree in a related field
- At least 5 years of teaching experience in a public or private school setting
- Supervisory experience in an education setting
- Experience in supervising or mentoring new teachers
- Holds a current Colorado teaching license
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. All such teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.
SalaryThe final salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned at a rate determined by university policy.
