About the RoleIECRM instructors are key to future success in the electrical industry. They are hired to teach on a year-to-year basis, using the National IEC Curriculum as the base of teaching, and may enhance the curriculum with Power Points and visuals from their own experience. The instructor writes and grades tests, quizzes, and homework assignments.
CompensationNew instructors are paid on an annual contract covering 36 class sessions, at a rate of $170 per class.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities- Serve as the contact between IECRM and the apprentice.
- Dress neatly in a shirt and long pants; reasonable exceptions if coming straight from job sites.
- Adhere to the schedule: classes run 5:30–9:30 p.m. (no dismissal before 9 p.m.).
- Provide lesson plans to the Training Director via the agreed form.
- Prepare and deliver instruction on IEC National Curriculum objectives.
- Accurately track and record student attendance.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with students and IECRM staff.
- Participate in IECRM events and activities outside the normal class schedule if encouraged.
- Maintain Gradebook and CMS documentation accurately.
