Lecturer – 3D Graphics and Animation (Part‑time, Non‑Tenure Track)
OverviewThe Digital Animation Center (DAC) within the Visual Arts department seeks a qualified part‑time lecturer to teach up to two courses per semester. The position is semester‑by‑semester and is limited to < 50% appointment.
Responsibilities- Teach introductory to advanced courses in 3D graphics and animation for undergraduate students in the DAC program.
- Develop course materials, assignments, and assessments that align with DAC curriculum goals.
- Engage students in inclusive learning environments, promoting diverse perspectives.
- Provide individualized support and feedback to students throughout the semester.
- Collaborate with DAC faculty to maintain high quality instruction and curriculum relevance.
- Bachelor’s degree in 3D animation or related field; professional experience in the industry preferred.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Maya and industry‑standard 3D animation software.
- Strong communication skills and experience teaching or mentoring in an academic or workshop setting.
- Excellent facility with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and graphic design applications.
- Solid generalist skills in 3D graphics and animation, with the ability to teach a diverse student body.
Preferred: Experience teaching in higher education;
Master’s degree in a related field.
Compensation: $5,150 per 3‑credit semester course.
