About Rocky Mountain PrepRocky Mountain Prep (RMP) is a network of 12 public charter schools in the Denver metro area serving just over 5,100 students from early childhood through 12th grade. We are committed to providing an education that is rigorous, affirming, and grounded in strong relationships.
We believe equity means ensuring every child has access to what they need to thrive, not by treating every student the same, but by meeting them where they are, honoring who they are, and challenging them to grow.
At RMP, we work to create learning environments where high expectations are paired with deep belonging, where both students and adults are seen, supported, and stretched. Our schools are guided by our PEAK values (Perseverance, Excellence, Adventure, and Kindness), which live in both how we teach and how we lead.
The OpportunityThis is a principalship for a leader ready to guide a school through reimagination, not as a blank slate, but as a place in motion.
RMP-Noel is evolving. It has already begun a purposeful redesign centered on strong instruction, student belonging, and adult sustainability. Your role will be to build on what has been started, bringing coherence to systems, consistency to culture, and clarity to the path forward.
You’ll step into a school with committed educators, early indicators of student growth, and a leadership team actively engaged in change. This work is not about rescue. It’s about refinement, direction, and a steady, human-centered approach to school transformation.
We’re looking for someone who leads with both urgency and humility— someone who can hold complexity, navigate change, and build trust across diverse teams. The school community doesn’t need promises or platitudes; they need a grounded leader who can listen deeply, act decisively, and sustain momentum over time.
Why We’re Hiring EarlyWe are looking to hire RMP-Noel’s next principal in January 2026—up to 6 months before the formal launch of the 2026–2027 school year. This intentional runway is about observation, listening, and learning, integration, and forward planning.
Meaningful school transformation requires trust, time, and preparation, not a sink-or-swim start.
In your first semester, you will have space and support to:
- Build relationships with students, families, and staff— getting to know people before making big decisions
- Learn the school’s current structures, systems, and improvement plan— understanding what’s in motion and why
- Partner with the current Executive Principal and external consultants— gaining insight into current strategies and conditions for learning
- Observe instruction and culture with a fresh perspective— identifying assets, gaps, and growth opportunities
- Connect with district and community stakeholders— building context and credibility across partnerships.
This onboarding period is not just about easing your transition; it’s about setting you up for lasting success. By the time you lead Summer PD and launch the next school year, you will be known, trusted, and ready.
Strategic ContextRMP-Noel is in the early stages of a comprehensive school redesign. The work is grounded in a bold, practical School Improvement Plan shaped by six core pillars:
- Instructional Rigor and Teacher Development
- Leadership Coaching and Systems Alignment
- Shared Expectations and Adult Culture
- Student Culture and Belonging
- Family Partnership and Community Trust
- Staff Stability and Retention
The plan is focused on improving results swiftly with strategy and care. We are working to accelerate growth by the end of this school year, and we are looking for a leader to carry that momentum forward, sustaining and expanding progress into the years ahead.
What You’ll Lead Instruction and Academic Systems- Align curriculum, assessments, and instruction to ensure all students— especially multilingual learners and students with disabilities— have access to grade-level content
- Lead data cycles that are precise, purposeful, and action-oriented, driving meaningful gains in both student…
