Description

The American Indian College Fund (College Fund) strives to positively impact the lives of American Indians by supporting their higher education and career objectives. College Fund team members believe “Education is the answer”, and collectively we raise funds, provide scholarships, and holistically support students in achieving their goals. Programming, research, and enhancing the capacities of tribal colleges and universities (TCUs) are also integral elements of our mission.

The College Fund supports TCUs that implement Indigenous Early Childhood Education (IECE) programming and supports college students. This position is primarily office-based and does not involve direct interaction with teachers, parents, families, or children at early learning centers.

The Program Coordinator will work directly with the Senior Program Officer – TCU Programs onsite at the College Fund’s office in Denver, CO and serves in a program coordination role for grants related to the College Fund’s Ihduwiyayapi Advancing Indigenous Early Childhood Education and Indigenous Visionaries Women’s Leadership Programs. Program coordination includes providing administrative support in areas such as convening implementation, vendor management, and report generation.

This position works directly with a variety of contacts both internally and externally, including TCUs and program participants. This position requires initiative, interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong desire to learn.

Job Objectives and Responsibilities
  • Supports, coordinates, and executes timely implementation of grant programs including coordinating the application, selection, award, and disbursement processes.
  • Executes program activity logistics including:
    • Planning of site visits and convening events in collaboration with the Senior Program Officer.
    • Supporting virtual online sessions.
    • Coordinating communication with consultants and guest speakers.
    • Arranging travel and coordinating pre‑authorization documents.
  • Conducts administrative and financial processes for programs including:
    • Administers signature acquisition and document management for vendor, contractor, and consultant agreements.
    • Prepares payment requests with proper documentation.
    • Supports creation of monthly and quarterly summaries for reporting to the Board and executive leadership.
    • Assists with collection and maintenance of data for program accountability and reporting purposes.
  • Communicates effectively to both internal and external partners regarding programs including:
    • Collaborates across the College Fund to accomplish organizational and departmental goals.
    • Provides administrative support in the collection of TCUs’ budget and program reporting.
    • Administers sharing of successful programming via various communication platforms.
    • Supports appropriate and timely reporting to donors and within the College Fund.
  • Participates as appropriate in departmental and organizational discussions related to goals and impact, as is encompassed within the College Fund’s mission and work‑culture.
  • Administers other duties as assigned.
