Lincoln County School District #1 is seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary Social Studies Teacher to join our educational team. This full-time position is anticipated to start in the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate will inspire students to engage with social studies concepts, develop critical thinking skills, and foster a deeper understanding of the world around them. We are looking for an educator who is committed to creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum requirements for social studies.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and collaboration.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and presentations.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance and behavior.
- Incorporate diverse perspectives and resources into the curriculum to promote cultural awareness and understanding.
- Utilize technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning experiences.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and social studies content.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that enrich the educational experience.
- Support school-wide initiatives and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Engage with the community through outreach programs and events that promote social studies education.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Studies, or a related field.
- Valid Wyoming PTSB teaching certification/license for secondary education in social studies.
- Strong knowledge of social studies curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful classroom environment.
- Proficiency in using technology for teaching and learning.
- Experience in teaching secondary social studies preferred, but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Must pass background check per district requirements.
