Position SummaryThe AACSB-accredited College of Business at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions for general business courses. MSU Denver enrolls over 16,000 students, where nearly 60% are first generation and over 55% are students of color. Located in downtown Denver, we are a designated Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), an INSIGHT into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award winner for 10 consecutive years, and the only Seal of Excelencia certified institution in Colorado. As the third largest institution of higher education in Colorado with an open access mission, MSU Denver serves the most diverse undergraduate population in the state, including the most first-generation and DACA students.
Responsibilities- Teach 3-9 credit hours of courses including Introduction to Business, Business Communication, Career Planning, and Global Corporate Social Responsibility. Most classes are on campus.
- Participate in program assessment activities as assigned.
- Be available for student consultation.
- Work with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
Additional duties include delivering course content, preparing materials, grading, providing feedback, addressing student questions, maintaining office hours, and complying with university policies on instruction and evaluation.
Required Qualifications- Master's degree in the relevant field.
- Substantial, current professional experience linked to the teaching discipline, typically at least ten years with increasing responsibility and supervisory roles.
- If the Master's degree is outside the teaching field, significant professional experience in the discipline is required.
Evidence of quality teaching in higher education.
Terms of EmploymentPart-time, at-will employment on a per credit hour basis, usually semester-by-semester. No benefits are provided. Candidates must be prepared to teach in person upon hire.
