Gender, Women, and Sexualities Studies Affiliate Instructor
Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part‑time affiliate faculty to teach courses in gender, women, and sexualities studies.
Position Summary
MSU Denver offers part‑time affiliate faculty appointments on a per‑credit‑hour basis for specific classes. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. All teaching assignments are budget and enrollment dependent. Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.
Responsibilities
• Teach one or more courses. Areas to be taught include all major topics in gender, women, and sexualities studies.
• Prepare course materials and lesson plans, grade student work, and provide constructive feedback in a timely manner.
• Deliver instruction in person or online consistent with the syllabus and department policies.
• Provide academic support to students as needed and comply with university policies on student evaluation and peer observation.
Required Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Women’s, Gender, Sexuality, and/or Feminist Studies or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
• Doctoral candidate in Women’s, Gender, Sexuality, or Feminist Studies.
• Demonstrated record of feminist instruction, including teaching or developing women’s studies or discipline‑specific feminist courses and curriculum.
• Understanding of the diverse student population at a large urban commuter campus and a demonstrated commitment to inclusivity.
Terms of Employment
Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester‑by‑semester basis. All assignments depend on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.
Salary
