Overview

Math Teacher  School Year) with immediate start at DSST Public Schools. This role focuses on delivering rigorous math instruction and fostering a love of applying mathematics to life, while contributing to a positive school culture and community.

Location: DSST College View Middle School
Salary: $60,000-$78,000 based on years of experience up to 10; relocation stipend available for applicants from 75 miles or more from Denver

The Role

Our Math teachers build and nourish a deep love of applying mathematical understanding to life, with a focus on transforming their community and the world.

Curriculum

DSST uses the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum in grades 6-11. There is flexibility in student placement along the math curriculum according to performance and preparedness. All DSST students complete 4 years of math by graduation. We will inquire about grade level and campus-specific preference at the time of interview.

High School Curriculum

  • Integrated Algebra and Geometry I
  • Integrated Algebra and Geometry II
  • Algebra II
  • Pre-Calculus
  • AP Calculus AB
  • AP Calculus BC
  • AP Statistics

Middle School Curriculum

  • 6th Grade Common Core Math
  • 7th Grade Common Core Math
  • 8th Grade Common Core Math
  • Integrated Algebra and Geometry I

Note:

All DSST students complete 4 years of math by graduation. Grade level and campus preferences will be discussed during the interview.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Rigorous & Engaging Content:
    Plan, intellectually prepare, and teach rigorous, culturally responsive, and grade-level aligned content to 3-5 classes daily depending on campus and content area.
  • Track and Support Student Growth:
    Monitor and assess student performance using a variety of tools to guide instruction and support individual growth.
  • Promote Positive Culture:
    Use DSST culture systems to foster a positive classroom and school culture and build trusting relationships with students and families.
  • Pursue Professional Development:
    Engage in ongoing professional growth, including coaching, feedback, and development with a focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  • Contribute to School Community:
    Undertake additional duties as needed (e.g., supporting student recruitment, leading a small group advisory, after-school tutoring, etc.).

Qualifications
  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in any field. Demonstrated content knowledge (in-field status) via qualifications (see options here).
  • Ideal: Proven commitment to and experience with serving students of color, students with disabilities, and/or multilingual students. A Colorado teaching credential is preferred but not required for most opportunities.
