Overview
The Department of Theatre and Dance at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. This listing is for potential future affiliate faculty needs for the Dance Program.
Responsibilities- Teaching assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content to students
- Preparing course materials and lesson plans
- Grading student work and providing timely, robust feedback
- Addressing student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies
- Providing online or in-person academic support as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment
- Delivering instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus; complying with department policies as required
- Adhering to university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies
- Demonstrating adaptability to new modes of instruction and sensitivity to the educational needs of a diverse student population
- Bachelor of Arts in Dance or related field with 6 years of relevant experience; or
- Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance or related field with 4 years of relevant experience
- Master of Fine Arts in Dance or related field with 2 years of relevant experience; or
- Master of Arts in Dance with 3 years of relevant experience; or
- Doctorate in Dance or related field with 2 years of relevant experience
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefits under the University’s benefit program. All such teaching assignments depend on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person on campus upon hire.
SalaryThe final salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned at a rate determined by university policy. For more information, view pay rates under the College of Letters, Arts, Sciences:
